It is our purpose to help people come to Jesus Christ by:
• Enabling them to SEEK a relationship with Him
• Challenging them to SURRENDER their lives to God
• Encouraging them to STRENGTHEN their walk with the Lord and with each other
• Providing them opportunities to SERVE His Church and others
• Teaching them to SHARE His message with the world
Mt. Zion Baptist Church has been a place of worship for more than 150 years. We were organized as Mt. Zion Baptist Church on October 7, 1857 with thirty-eight charter members who were led by God to start a Church in their community. Since its earliest days Mt. Zion has continued to grow both spiritually, structurally, and numerically.
In October 2007 at its 150th Anniversary Celebration, Mt. Zion was challenged to:
• Remember those who came before us, leaving us a tremendous heritage
• Reflect on our own lives and responsibility to our church and our Lord
• Run the race that God has for us, allowing our history to be a springboard for our future
• Respond to keeping a vision ever before us, believing we are living in the days that precede the coming of Jesus Christ.
Our future is bright because our past has been blessed. God is doing great things in our midst!
